Flexpricer licenses are typically required for those Salesforce users with Sales Cloud licenses who work with Opportunities and Quotes, and/or who use Salesforce functionality that references Flexpricer data.
More specifically, users require a Flexpricer license if they interact with:
- Opportunity Products or Quote Line Items using Flexpricer-packaged LWCs, Visualforce Pages or any other user interface components provided within the Flexpricer package;
- any Flexpricer-packaged custom object or custom field;
- any record-level or field-level data residing in packaged Flexpricer custom objects or custom fields.
In this context, “interaction” means using any Salesforce functionality that makes any reference to Flexpricer objects, fields or data contained in those fields in any way, including (but not exclusively) in page layouts, reports, dashboards, flows, triggers and third-party integrations. This includes viewing, editing and deleting.
In a typical implementation of Flexpricer, the following roles within a business may need to use either Flexpricer user-interfaces, Flexpricer data records or data contained in Flexpricer fields.
- Sales Reps: responsible for using the Flexpricer interface and working with line items on Opportunities and Quotes
- Sales Managers: responsible for overseeing the profitability and approval of records created by Sales Reps
- Revenue/Sales Operations: responsible for creating records, reports and dashboards that incorporate Flexpricer data
- Management: responsible for analysing reports and dashboards
- Finance: responsible for invoice generation using data from Flexpricer objects and fields (e.g. Subscriptions, Product Costs)
- IT/Salesforce Administration: responsible for configuring and maintaining the app
This list is non-exhaustive and is designed to be indicative of the types of users in Salesforce that typically interact with Flexpricer and its data.
Flexpricer licenses are not required for Salesforce users whose only requirement is to view data written by Flexpricer to standard Salesforce fields on standard Salesforce objects.
