By default, when you interact with quantities, prices and discounts in Salesforce, you’re limited to saving 3 decimal places and seeing 2! Requesting additional decimal places from Salesforce Support means that you also have to accept some limitations.
Not with Vision Product Selector. The values read and written to Salesforce are always to 8 decimal places, so you can be sure of high precision calculations.
Every product is different, so why default to add the same quantities of each. If you typically sell 5 or more of a given product, then with Vision Product Selector, you can change the default quantity of that product to 5.
Your org-level default quantity applies whenever a line item is added, but you can override this on any (or even every) product.
Adjusting the sort order of line items is simple with Vision Product Selector. Just press the sort button then drag-and-drop the line items into the correct order.
The sort order is saved in a custom field so that it’s easily accessible for reporting and querying by third-party document generation tools and the app updates Salesforce’s standard sort order field too. So, you preserve sort order when using Salesforce’s standard Quote templates too.
When you need to remove line items from an Opportunity or Quote, it can be a time-consuming exercise. Vision Product Selector gives each line item its own trash-can / bin so removing an individual item is easy.
Plus, an ‘all rows’ trash-can gives your users a simple way to bulk remove all line items… making it easy to rebuild an Opportunity or Quote when needed.
We all know that to change a pricebook or currency on an Opportunity is a pain when you already have line items. Salesforce requires all line items to be removed BEFORE making the change.
Vision Product Selector makes this simple by removing line items automatically when you switch between Pricebooks or Currencies from within the interface.
In addition to making it easy to switch pricebooks and currencies on an Opportunity, Vision Product Selector’s Line-Item Recreation functionality will attempt to re-create all your previous line items using the new pricebook/currency.
We can’t make any guarantees that you’ll get all the line items back, because we must honour Salesforce’s rule that you can only add active PricebookEntries (and you might not have set up all products in all pricebooks). But, we’ll attempt to recreate all the line items you had before to make it quicker and easier to change Pricebooks.
If you want to display and edit data from custom fields on the Opportunity or Quote Line Items, you can easily display these in Vision Product Selector.
Just drag the fields you want to expose into a field set and the interface will automatically display them.
You can even drag fields from the related Opportunity and/or related Product record so that users can see additional data related to the line item.
The way you work with line items might change depending on the product. So, Vision Product Selector allows to choose whether to display the additional cross-object custom fields by default or not.
This way you’re not cluttering the interface with information that’s not relevant or of interest to the line item.
And, the app is intelligent enough to remember whether the state of the line-item was collapsed or not ready for the next time you’re working on it.
