What is Smart Line Item Collapsing and Why is it Useful?
Vision Product Selector’s Smart Line Item Collapsing feature makes the experience for your sales users even better.
If additional line item fields or profit calculations are available to display but are not needed for a particular product, they can be configured to hide by default.
Conversely, if they are needed for a product, they can be configured to display by default.
By reducing the amount of on-screen space used by an individual line item in the interface, the Sales User is able to see more of the data that’s important to them, helping improve their overall experience.
How to Set up Smart Line Item Collapsing
- On the Flexpricer Settings page, specify the default collapse status for all Products:
- Check the checkbox next to Default Collapse Custom Fields On Line Items if you wish to default line item additional fields to be hidden
- Uncheck the checkbox next to Default Collapse Custom Fields On Line Items if you wish to default line item additional fields to be displayed
- On individual product records, override the default collapse status by using the Collapse picklist.
- Set the picklist value to Collapse so that, by default, when a line item is added for this product, the additional fields and data are not hidden
- Set the picklist value to Do Not Collapse so that, by default, when a line item is added for this product, the additional fields and data are displayed
- A user can override any of these collapse statuses once the line item is added to the opportunity or quote and the collapse status is preserved for the next time Vision Product Selector is opened.
