This innovative feature in Flexpricer allows you to write/upload translations to your product data and allow your sales users to search, view and add products to an opportunity or quote where all the relevant information is presented in their local language.
International businesses may sell the same product in different regions but use a different, local language name. Same Product. Different Language.
Product Data Translations for Salesforce allows you associate multiple language translations to each product and then specify the language that you wish to search on and use on your Opportunity or Quote.
This innovative feature utilises Flexpricer’s advanced Vision Product Selector and means that whilst your System Administrator can easily write/upload translations for your product data to be used by sales users, the opportunity or quote is always associated to the Product record using standard Opportunity Product and Quote Line Item objects.

Using Product Data Translations, your sales users are not forced to learn another language in order to search for a product and add it to an opportunity! They can do so in the language of their choice.
As a simple example, if your business operates in USA and France and has a product called ‘Car’, you may choose to have a French translation for this product as ‘Voiture’. Then, if a French user specifies the Opportunity Language as ‘Français’, and searches for ‘Voiture’ in Flexpricer, they’ll see all the relevant product information in French, but behind the scenes, Salesforce will be creating a line item for the ‘Car’ product.
Product Data Translations for Salesforce don’t stop at the Product Name. You can translate any text field on the Product record into a local language and have that made available on the line item.
The feature even includes the ability to provide translations to groupings in the Simple Product Configurator to make the sales user experience even more localised.
Translation Workbench allows you to create translations for objects, field name and picklist values, but not text fields and will not save translations on a line item.
Flexpricer’s Product Data Translation for Salesforce allows you to provide unlimited language translations to text fields on Product records, search and display results in a different language within the Vision Product Selector and always with the line item maintaining the relationship with the original Product record.
Flexpricer includes an option to toggle its search functionality to return results that include diacritics.
This means that you can search for words using the standard alphabet (without using a diacritic) and have results returned that include diacritics (e.g. search for ‘Franc’ and get both ‘Français’ and ‘France’ in the results).
Absolutely! The way that Flexpricer implements Product Data Translations means that translations into the specified language is always available directly via the opportunity line item or quote line item.
This means that with a simple tweak to your document generation setup, you can read product information from the associated Translation record.
